Any review should have the pros and cons. Instead of just harping on one point (the-guy-next-door's-white-dog-is-rude kinda stuff), a balance of views would make easy read. I admit, some products dont give you an option!!
Throw in an anecdote or a personal experience on the product under review in crisp, clear and simple language (some of the words I see in these columns could really quiz a Prof of Language in Oxford!!!).
Add statistics (although not much) to lend credence to your stuff.
And topup with a racy punchline! it can do the trick!!
