I had purchased a Whirlpool AC 1.5 tons some 6 yrs ago. It is a hardly used machine.
Of late the remote and instrument panel were not responding. When I contacted Whirlpool they said its an old machine and the same model is not being manufactured these days hence I have to replace the AC.
Why would I buy Whirlpool products in future if I have to replace them as spares are not available??
I think we consumers should select products from manufacturers who are specialists in them, not by mere brand value. I will of course replace this but with a much better brand who are experts in AC and do not phase out models often. Whirlpool also wanted to replace my AC for a value of Rs2 k for an AC which I had bought at Rs26k, and sparingly used..
