I am not much of a heavy user of WhatsApp. I use it occasionally to keep in contact with few of the dear ones. I used to love it when I signed up for it. A clean UI, easy to use features. Pick up a contact and say Hi, or send them media files. An upgraded version of SMS ( and maybe MMS too, never used it though) .
Over the years, it did little touch-ups here and there. But it still used to be a Messenger. And yeah, I would have loved it, if it remained that way. Let's not make all apps, the same. While adding a Call feature was a welcome upgrade, I haven't used it much. Well the useful update can be that document attaching feature. Reduces the need of mails.
But this new Status tab has messed it all up. From a messenger, WhatsApp is becoming a social media platform. A 24-hour expiry status! Well its fun but irrelevant.
And yes, the WhatsApp Web is a fine utility out there when you can't keep up with the phone. You can do it on your PC's screen.
