Some more advice for Credit cards.
Read to see if you have a grace period, for when you pay your balance before the grace period ends.
I recently got another card.
Called my High interest card to transfer balance.
They offered to reduce my% rate to 14% from 19+%.
So I took them up on it.
Make sure you are not charged for unauthorized charges.
Or in my case this month, my payment was 1 day late.
I called and as a courtesy, CS removed the 25.00 late fee.
I really thought it was due on the 9th, when it was due on the 8th. So I thought removal or over charge was great.
I think it wise, unless you pay your balance off each month.
Not to charge groceries, gas etc. The prices are high enough
with out having to pay interest to eat/ride.
Another thing I do with my Credit Card's when I buy on line is, I shop through a site that offer's reward's to shop.Like MyPoint's. You can earn Gift Certificates to Spiegel, Home Depot and more. You can usually find a store you would shop at any way. I just used a$25 Gift Certificate I earned to J.C.Penny. This way.
https://mypoints.com / has nothing to do with use of CC, but if you sign up and give my user name I recieve 100 points. GCRANE
I like to save any way I can.:)
You can pay your credit card-cards off in 1/2 the time with out spending x-tra dollar's.
I have not tried yet, I saw this on our local news consumer report. Clark Howard wsbtv out of atlanta GA.
All you do is send 1/2 of your payment the 1st of the month and the other 1/2 when payment is due.
That cuts out 1/2 the interest for the month.
Hope this helps.
