Story.
Uday Shetty(Nana Patekar), Majnu(Anil Kapoor) and their boss, Sikander(Feroz Khan) are basically three Hong Kong-based serio-comic mobsters, who are keen to get their sister Sanjana(Katrina Kaif) married into a respectable family.
Uday, who accidentally meets the handsome bachelor Rajiv(Akshay Kumar), gets convinced that the latter would be an appropriate match for Sanjana. However, Rajiv’s uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo(Paresh Rawal) disapproves of Uday’s association with a dubious family.
Meanwhile, Sanjana, who is totally unaware of her brother’s plans, meets Rajiv on a cruise and they fall in love. She has the acceptance of Dr. Ghunghroo, who is unaware of the fact that she is the sister of the mafia. When Dr. Ghunghroo realizes his faux pas, he tries to escape the fury of the brothers. What follows after that, is a commotion of comically funny situations, as each of the diametrically different brothers gets engaged in smart and comic stunts to get their uncle agree to the alliance
Performances(In Chronological Order).
Anil Kapoor.
Anil Kapoor role in welcome reminds me the character he played in Deewana Mastana, infact in this movie he is a step ahead, both in his acting and in chracter. He has delivered a lovable performance.
Nana Patekar.
Nana Patekar in role of don and his child hood desire of being an film actor is also carried on with grace. His dialogue delivery is always an ace factor in any of his movie and this time blend with his comic timing is a solid punch.Watch him saying "Bhagwan ki daya se sab kuch hai, Paisa hai, Shaurat hai, Izzat hai"
Akshay Kumar.
Akshay Kumar has readily emerged as actor in comic roles and he has now become mr.dependable when given a comic role.Performed his chracter of most eligible bachelor effortlessly.Though not much of comic dialogues in his kitty this time but whatever was assigned by director is delivered with Elan.
Paresh Rawal.
My thought after watching movie is, he should have given more role then what he was given in movie, I wont say he was wasted but I will like to add he was not used according to his class and potentioal, but having him in any of movie always add a star in the movie and a reason to watch him.
Vijay Raaz is worth mentioning.
Katrina Kaif, Mallika Sherawat are just Ok.Firoz Khan is a terrible waste.
Verdict.
Movie start is not appropriate and fails to gain your interest but holds the grip as progress and keep you intact with following sequences.Though songs are just kind of a halt in the movie and 1-2 songs are just added without reason.Second half is stretched a bit long and can be edited.Being a comic caper some of the scenes are just like Over the head.
Scenes Worth Mentioning.
Car Accident Scene, when Akshay Kumar tries to tow his car.
Vijay Raaz imitating as directing Nana Patekar on horse.
The Pyre episode is just fantastic and will surely make you fell out of your seat.
