I absolutely love Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar and this movie was a great attempt. But it's just not what I expected of this movie.
Amitabh, who his physically impaired, loses his wife and daughter to an accident and a murder(apparently) and Farhan, who's a police officer, loses his daughter in a cross fire, for which his wife blames him.
Amitabh teaches chess to little kids and Farhan's daughter is one of his students. So, there's the connection between the two. They find their similar tragedies to be comforting when they're in each other's company. They play chess and drink.
Later, we learn that Amitabh had been using Farhan to avenge his daughter's death, who was pushed down the stairs by a politician, because since he can't walk, he can't do anything.
If you look closely, you'd know all this when Amitabh and Farhan first meet. You know who will do what and why from the very beginning. It's a good attempt but it looks like a school kid wrote the twists the turns. It's an okay movie.
But the performances have been great. So I commend everyone for that!
