Okay, so I've been using my Polo 1.2 L Diesel since 2012. Here's my in detailed review of my experience. I'm proud to have covered 2, 14, 500 Kms and it continues to be my daily driver. Of course, the cost of maintenance is on the higher side being a VW and most of the parts being imported from Germany. Id like to share my cost of ownership in this review so you all could get a good perspective about the cost of owning a VW.

Vehicle was purchased on Aug 20th 2012.

Vehicle general service cost is 16K every 15k kms or 1 year.

Till date 15 services have been done

So that's 15 × 16k = 2, 40, 000 rupees

Tyres have been changed twice so that's another

8 tyres × 3500 = 28, 000 rupees

Clutch plate was changed twice which costed 35, 000 rupees

Yes clutch plates are very expensive.

I recently changed the front and rear bumper as due to age the bumpers had gathered tones of scratches and few dents here and there.

Each bumper was 10K so both the bumpers including painting were 20k.

Front suspension had to be changed as due to age they had become weak that was around 14k.

Brake pads were changed 3 times

One set costs 2k so that's 6 K

Brake discs were changes twice

Each set of brake disc costed 4k

So 8k for the discs.

So there's something called under arm in the vehicle which is very delicate according to me because of horrible road conditions in Bangalore

So the under arm has been changed 4 times

The under arm costs 6k so that's 6×4= 24k for the under arm.

I've ignored the bulb changes in the car as it's of negligible costs around 200 rupees or something.

So yeah this is how much has gone into the vehicle to maintain.

The car is still in mint condition as it's maintained so well.

In total, I've spent 4, 10, 000 lack rupees.

Yes, it's quite a lot. The reason behind not selling this car is because of the engine, it has a punchy engine which zips off after crossing 2000rpm.

I had plans of having the GT but I'm so used to driving a diesel I just can't switch. I also own a Vento 1.6 tdi which is so powerful that its wheel spins even in 2nd gear. So now that VW doesn't offer diesel engines I want to enjoy these torque dominant cars as long as I can.

Also, I have never used any other car but German and Sweden cars.

I've driven many cars from Hyundai to Kia to Jeep.

Nothing feels as good as a VW the safe feeling on the highway.

Incredibly stable at high speeds even at 170-180. No vibrations no stability issues at all.

Coming to the fuel economy is where my Polo shines. It gives around 16 kmpl in the city and close to 22 on highways. Again this isn't something I can expect from the new GT. I know I'll get the power but fuel efficiency keeping in mind the petrol prices is scary.
