I have been going to the museum every year from my school days, but have not visited from around 3 years now. Every year we used to go here from our school, so I'm kinda familiar with the exhibition halls in the museum and their stuff.
It is located in Kasturba road, behind Cubbon Park. The entry fee is around 30-40 for adults. Mak esure you go by 10 a.m. so that you don't miss out checking all the floors of the museum as it closes at 6 p.m. and that much time is not enough to read and try out all the exciting things.
As soon as you enter, towards your right, you find dinosaur enclave. This place is cool when you are visiting the first time. There is a dummy dinosaur with motor which moves its hands and head making sounds and when we were kids, we would go try to hold hold its hand and many would scream and run away:D.
In the first floor, there is engine hall, where different kinds of engines are displayed and working models are also kept along with the descriptions. The models are nice and you can try some by pressing buttons and the engine starts showing how they work. Second floor is fun science. I bet anyone who goes there spends more time in this floor than anywhere else. There are working models for everything and with the press of a button, you can see things happen and this is fun for kids as well as adults. There is a 3d movie hall(I don't remember which floor exactly) which runs a few shows a day and make sure you don't miss that out. the shows that are screened are nice to watch though they keep showing the same things sometimes.
One of the main attractions of the museum is the replica of the Wright Brothers Airplane. It is built the same size as the original one and the other one I like is to pump the ball and it travels all around the room in the tubes and comes back. It was real fun back then, later when I visited after my college, I did not even go near it.
There is also a hall of biotechnological innovations and stuff. There will be biotechnology quiz and display of applications of biotechnology.
The space gallery exhibits about space science and its wonderful too look at. There are different models of satellites etc and a lot of information to read.
There is basic electronic hall which exhibits electronic stuff with practical application. Though I don't really like electronics, this hall is fun.
Overall it is a nice place to spend your day and you'll enjoy every single piece of it. The times flies by if you are in this museum and I love this place. You can even Visit Cubbon park after visiting Museum, though it will be late if you spend more time in the museum.
