This thread is dedicated to the newly released movie yesterday 'Via Daarjeling'.
I have seen it and it was quite interesting and imaginative, I especially watched it for one of my favourite actress 'Sandhiya Mridual' and also KK Menon was great in the movie.
But one thing I wanna mention that this film is totall inspired and the basic idea is completely taken from the old art movie of Shabana Azmi and Doctor.Shriraam Lago 'Aik Din Achanak' in which Shabana Azmi's father disappeared one day and everyone in the family gives his/her own version that where he disappeared and starting disclosing their true thinking about him.
Same story line is here in Via Darjeeling when KK Menon is disapeared one day when he was on his honeymoon, and then the four people in the room gave heir own versions of the story and in this process they truly disclose their actual perception and what they really feel and thik of him, and every individual's perception about him is diferent and it is no what it seems as we think about others and as we show to the world that what we think.
I dont agree with Taran Adarsh's review that its a mistake that the director has never shown that what happened to KK Menon in real after the culmination of all imaginary stories of the four people.... it means Taran didnt got the actual point in the film. It was no even shown in Aik Din Achanak that what actually happened to Shabana Azmi's father and why and where he disappaeared suddenly one day. The actual motive of the writer n director in this film is to show the complexity of human relatiosa and what diffeent persons actually think about one when he is not there and expose their inner mind.
The film was also resembles a little bit with shyam benegal's 'Suraj ka satvaan ghoda' but was actually inspired from 'Aik din Achank'.
Highly recommended if u didnt watched an of the 2 above mentioned films already (i.e. aik din achanak and suraj ka satvan ghoda)
