Unfortunately Veer-Zaara released late in Dubai that is also in only one theatre (Plaza Cinema). So getting tickets were really difficult but I was keen to see the movie so somehow we arranged the advance booking of tickets. And finally we went to see it last night though we got few minutes late for which we were cribbing.
According to promos it was really tempting to watch the movie. But in real it was the first set back from Yash Chopra for me. The story line was good but the way it has shown is not really effective. The basic massage of movie which I understood was development of friendship with both the neighboring countries through the bond of love, truth and honesty.
And other point of view it was a complete love story as usual Yash Chopra movie where a lover can leave everything (his country, his identity etc) for his love. But it was more like an imaginative movie, nothing was fact full. Movie end was very lengthy.
Casting was good. Amitab and Hemamalini did justice to there roles though it was short. Manoj Vajpyee was stunning and performed well. Prity Zinta was bubbly like always, Rani was okay but SRK was really disappointing he could not do justice to his old man performance. Bomain Irani did not have much to do. Others were okay.
Songs were good, Cinematography & Choreography was good, Costumes of Prity and Hema were captivities, and dialog delivery was not really effective. Kirth Nagar (Place in Panjab) sceneries were good.
Buy frankly speaking for me movie was not worth watching at theatre. Watching at CD is okay. If I had read any critical review before I would have not gone for it.
