It was the start of the indian-australian cricket series at the end of last year...to tell the truth, not a lot of people in Australia actually had any great hopes for the Indian team...because well, last time they came...well, we won't go into that.
Anyways, can you imagine the surprise of everyone...Aussies and Indians in Australia included...when India played brilliantly??!! And man, after the Adelaide test...when India unexpectedly won!!...Everyone was scrambling to buy tickets for the Sydney match!.
It felt soooooo good because in the Sydney match...the Aussies were trying everything to win...actually, even draw! Like Richie Benaud said ''The Aussies chucked in the dishwasher, fridge, everything, but still couldn't beat India''...that was soo true...unfortunately, we could not gloat over all those test wins because school hadn't started yet...
Then came the one-day VB series...we started hoping, betting everything, that India would win it for sure! Then, the controversies started..not that the test was without its share...
Then the Sydney 22 January match...ahh....that was the best!...And there were sooo many indians! The commentators were like...''there are more singhs than smiths here!''
YUVRAJ my hero!! 2 sixes, 2 4s in the one over!!!...one of the sixes came into our bay...that was soooo mad! and then LAXMAN!! the best. That was the best match!...
And then the rain started...When it had cleared up, the stadium played Mundeya To bach Ke Rahin...man, that just set off everyone...we were ALL dancing, then this Gora also joined...that was cool!
Ok, after the rain, what I found was weird...IF the total score to reach was reduced..and the number of overs were reduced etc...why weren?t the wickets?? coz then Australia had an advantage... It was such a tense game!! Then, Brett Lees Chhika!!...Gosh that was annoying! and then Australia won...but the indians enjoyed the game more...
Then the downfall started in the finals...yaar, it was like this...we didn?t even get to open our banners...after sehwag hit the six....I knew he was gonna get out...and then everyone just fell....
School had started...and we were badly embarrassed by our economics teacher... India came and won unexpectedly...and also lost unexpectedly... Ok, this is getting too much, I?ll go now
But, WE STILL LUV U MEN IN BLUE!!...ESP. YUVRAJ!!!
