This retrospective album which came in maybe a bit too late kicks off with eddie's legendary solo ''eruption'' which featured first in their self titled album. With its ram-o-riffs and excellent guitaring this one's worth hearing.Dave crooning ''i heard the news baby'' from aint talking bout love follows next which is one of their titanic rock tunes.''I live my life like theres no tomorrow'' yea tats runnin with the devil. Frankly this is one of those songs which you idolize but with time it wears u out.And the cradle will rock with its catchy lyrics is an acceptable portrayal of parental disgust towards their rebellious children. Then theres humans being soundtrack of the movie twister this is probably one of their best songs after dave's exit. This is a song which makes you shine on with some innovative lyrics pooled in by sammy, eddie, alex n mike.My favourite though would be why cant this be love .Here is a rock song with its share of crunching riffs which strikes the right chord. The lyrical chorus leaves you wondering why cant this be love?cant get this stuff no more and me wise magic the two songs recorded with former vocalist dave could have quite been avoided as they neither rekindle the earlier magic between the members of the band nor rightfully deserve a place in a best of cd.Instead songs like jamie's crying and atomic punk could have been roped in.so much for what ifs..Jump their much popular song which was set more on keyboards than eddies guitar tapping skills sounds more like an anthem for kindergarten kids.Unchained with its shady verse and panama with its mischievous lyrics(wee bit of abstract sex talk)are good songs.Dance the night away sounds more like a pop song but passes for classic rock. Not exactly an ideal best of cd(tracklist surely should have been better) but a good effort to capture their journey through the musical circuit .Overall a not so successful attempt to appease their rapidly depleting fans.BUT nevertheless this collection of songs from one of the earliest bands in the rock scenario is a must have.
i know this is under the wrong topic but cud'nt find the right one.
