I am a teacher by profession and in my40s I have used the Urban Pro platform earlier and didn't find any problem. In fact, the tutor that I got is still teaching my children. It's been one and a half year. I never thought of giving reviews. But my latest experience has been horrific. I decided to study from a French tutor Mr. Nallam Rao who was new on the platform and his fees was very less.
I paid for 30 classes in one go but in 3 sessions I had realized my mistake and decided to change the tutor and requested Urban Pro for the same. Urban Pro representative Mr. Sanjeev and Mr. Rahul were supportive and asked to inform the tutor about the discontinuation of the class, which I did.
That's where my misery began. The tutor started sending abusive, threatening, derogatory messages on the Urban Pro chat portal. When I informed Urban Pro support they instructed the tutor to behave like a gentleman and stop sending messages as the client has refused any communication with him, but the tutor did not adhere to it. It's been 3 days and I am still getting messages from him.
I have sent a complaint email to Urban Pro. It has yet not been redressed though Urban Pro has made arrangements for another tutor and I will begin my class today.
Urban pro has asked me to submit a review of Mr. Nallam Rao but it is still not reflected on their portal.
This experience cajoled me to write a review especially for girls and females to be cautious when you select an online tutor, do not be very friendly, or share your family and personal information during the class under any circumstance. You never know what kind of personality your tutor or student has.
As in my case, I found the tutor aggressive . I hope that Urban Pro takes cognizance of the complaint as the videos and chats are available on their portal for investigation.
If anyone has any suggestions as to what should I do if the tutor continues sending messages. I have told Urban Pro to block the chat box which they said is not possible.
Past 3 days have been horrendous, and now I know that I have to be extremely careful for my children too as they are also attending online classes for most of their co-curricular activities.
Also, a request to the readers, do not give your review just on the basis of the demo class as it can be misleading. The reviews should be based on an experience of completion of substantial no. of classes as most of the tutors ask the students to review them immediately after the demo or a class or two.
Your words are of paramount importance for others to come to a decision and save them from financial loss and even stress. Please use them judiciously.
