Urban Ladder recent experience. Review on Urbanladder

I purchased their products back in 2016 when we moved to our new apartment -

Sofa, Dining table and chairs, TV Stand, Side tables, Beds etc

The products were looking attractive and the quality was good.

I think, they maintained their quality until the reliance acquisition happened.

When I ran into issue, I reached out to the customer care service. One small portion of the dining chair broke. It was a small issue that even a local carpenter could fix.

Despite calling many times and saying that I can pay the carpenter fees, they did not agree. They kept on saying that this cannot be repaired. They also said that, a similar piece of wood is not available, despite the fact that majority of their furniture are made with sheesham wood.

So if your intent is just to purchase something and if you have no expectation on service, then you can go with urban ladder.

Despite the bad experience, I still made one more purchase for Dickens's corner desk. I have seen this piece back in 2016 and it looked really good. But when I ordered it now, I got some totally different thing. Except the model, the quality looked so bad. Some portions looked like engineered wood or low quality wood. It did not look like sheesham wood at all to me.

When I raised a complaint, they said that each wood batch is different and hence color will vary. I kept on telling them that it is just not the color but also the quality that mattered. The quality was bad, any person who look and feel it can easily make out.

The side boards did not have any pattern that made it looked natural. The patterns look so artificial with no blemish or flaws which is surreal. Only engineered wood can look like that. On the same furniture, few pieces looked like good wood, but most of the other pieces looked like cheap quality

Apparently, they send one person to have a look. He admitted to me that the quality is not up to the mark. But eventually, I got a mail from the customer care guys stating, that they evaluated the product and see no issues.

I do not know on what basis they evaluated, when the guy who came here told me that the quality is not up to mark. I asked them how they passed the quality checks, and they did not give specific answer.

I don't want them to keep fooling people like this and get away with customer complaints without proper reasoning.

Summary: Urban ladder is not the same any more. If you go and buy things based on your past experience you will end up with cheap quality things and pay high price. Your complaints will not be heard or answered.
