The King of comedy, a legend passed away yesterday.
The native of indore worked as a bus conductor before he entered the film line .His philospher guide and a very close friend was Guru Datt who gave him a start in baazi and then Jhonny/Badruddin never turned back. Guru datt re-named Badruddin after a famous whisky Jhonny Walker , and till then indian people know ''Jhonny Walker'' more as a comedian than a whisky.An actor in white kurta pyajama wore thick glasses had different standards of comedy ,his comedy consisted of no vulgarity ever ,he always did genuine comedy which you can always enjoy with the whole family.
his work was outstanding in few of his movies like ''pyaasa'' , ''madhumati'' and specially in ''yeah hai bambai meri jaan''.
His work with his co-star Tun Tun is always admirable.Today we rarely find comedians of such unique style.he worked in more than 300 movies which is not a cup of tea of any comedian of today's age he was a gem of a comedian.
He played his part so well in movies that people always expected humours jokes and funny statement from him but he could also make people cry very easily as he did in hrishikesh mukherjee's ''ANAND''
In a recent interview of his son cum actor naseer khan said that he was a serious kind of person ,very balanced and very practical.
his last movie was Chachi 420 in which he carried his patent style.
though he has passed away but still we all will sing the same song while applying oil to our hair CHAMPEY.......TEL MALISH

coincidently I used the lines spoken by him in ANAND in my last review and yesterday he was sadly demised.this brought a very strong feeling in me to write on him I give tribute to the great actor of indian film history 4m the core of my heart.
