Umang app is sponsored by the central govt. of India to provide access to all the govt. running schemes and projects. Users can get all the details about the govt. projects through this app and can also avail various offers and promotions available to them. This is an attempt to connect with the public and to provide them a platform that can save time and efforts.

Users doesn't have to visit different websites and apps to get information about various govt. projects. Now, all the current and well performing projects are available on this app. It can be used by the public to apply for various govt. schemes and to avail subsidies.

I explored this app for many days and experienced it has to go a long way in order to give users a better experience. At present it doesn't work properly and lags a lot. The layout is an average and there is enough scope to improve the layout and design. Design also doesn't impress at all and more efforts should be made to give it a better look and to make it more appealing. The logos of various projects are not displayed properly and new logos should be used to make it more relevant.

At present the govt. is promoting various projects and most of them for the poor and middle class. Information about all the projects such as Passport Seva, EPFO, NPS, HP Gas etc. can be accessed through the app. Also, updates are loaded on the portal and notified to users from time to time. Users can also fill online form and submit it instantly that saves both time and money. Even farmers can also find relevant information about various subsidies they are entitled to and can also avail insurance such as Crop Insurance through the portal.

I found the app not at all useful due to only a few projects are listed on it. I tried to find information about a few educational projects but none of them were listed on it. Also, it is quite difficult to login to the app as it always shows errors while login. Users can login successfully only after trying for more than 10 times. Also, the information page doesn't open instantly and takes a long time to display details. Same problem is while filling forms. Most of the forms are too lengthy and when one click on the submit button it shows page not found. So, overall not useful in achieving the desired results.
