UMA which means'Durga', story of a father and daughter played by Sara Sengupta and Jishu Sengupta who happens to be real life father and daughter also. The chemistry between them is something one should look forward while watching the movie and Sara, she shows some brilliant performance as a debutante.
Story line:
Uma(Sara) and her father Himadri(Jishu) lives in Switzerland where Himadri as a single father up-brings her daughter because her wife left when Uma was 2 year old. When Uma was diagnosed with a terminal illness and she has few months left to live, her father decided to fulfill her long cherished dream to be a prt of Kolkata Durga puja. But it's still a few months left for Durga puja so Himadri decided to create the festive mood in one of the housing complex in Kolkata and he gave the responsibility to director Bramhananda Chakrobarty played by Anjan Dutt. But when Uma visited Kolkata she wants to see the major puja pandals in here. Now the task is to recreate the theme for whole city which seems bit surreal to me. The story then revolves around the drama of recreating the puja theme for whole city.
