I am occasional user of cab services for commuting between home and office. I am not eligible for cab service provided by company because of the contract signed between the company and client, and hence I have to travel by my own. Initially, I was fan of OLA Cabs and I used to book OLA cabs whenever I needed a private cab. But lately I started facing issues with OLA cabs, so I was looking for an alternative of that. My friend told me about UBER cabs and how he is happy with their services.
It so happened one day that I had to travel to my office, which was in Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore that time, and I had no intention of driving my car to office from my residence, which is in Bommanahalli. So, I thought to download UBER cab app on my mobile and wanted to give it a shot. Download of App was quick. Opening of App took some time. I saved my Work Address and Residence address, in case I want to use the app in future as well. Luckily there was a cab available. So, I booked it after adding money to wallet. Cab came in time. Driver was decent enough. Journey from my residence to my office was smooth and the money got deducted automatically from the Uber wallet. It was cheaper than OLA Cabs. I was happy with the Service provided. Now, I am using Uber from past 1.5 years. Except for a few small issues, overall I am a happy customer of Uber. For UberGo, base price is Rs. 35+ Rs. 7 per Kiometer+ Re. 1 per minute of time taken to reach destination.
Pros:
I never has to face any issues of fake booking or post booking, driver did not come. I never used any Promo code so not aware of that. I pay for what I use.
If there is no cab near my pickup location, App clearly states that. Which helps me plan my travel.
Cheaper than OLA cabs.
Never faced misbehavior from Driver or bad cabs or anything like that. Worst to worst case is ordinary Indica. That's it.
Cab is always on time(+/- 5 minutes).
Cons(Rather, some of these points are ok with me, at least I can plan my travel nicely than waiting for them to respond)
No call centre number for them.
No advance booking taken by them. For me this is ok, rather than taking the booking and cancelling at last moment which I have seen with Meru cabs and OLA cabs.
No SMS confirmation with Vehicle number. Your App should be on all the time. Probably, they should work on an offline app once booking is confirmed.
Overall, I am a happy user of Uber from past 1.5 years.
