I usually use Uber cabs for my travels, and I haven't faced many issues with them. My experiences with Uber have generally been good.
However, on January 3, 2024, I had a bad experience when I booked a cab from Jawahar Nagar Kanpur to Central Station Kanpur. Several cab drivers canceled my booking before one finally accepted it. The driver took 20 minutes to reach me, even though the app showed only a 5-minute wait time.
When the driver arrived, I realized he was drunk, but I had to reach the central station on time. So, I decided to go with him. The fare shown in the app was ₹50, but the driver took a longer route, and the bill came to ₹70. When I pointed this out, the driver started abusing me.
I tried calling Uber customer care, but no one picked up. After 25 minutes, someone finally answered. They assured me that they would take action and refund the extra fare. However, even after calling several times, I haven't received the refund, even after 3 months.
Overall, my experiences with Uber have been good, but sometimes the fare is higher than what's shown in the app.
