I have been using twitter from last 2 years and I totally love it. Twitter is a very well known social networking site.
Connections - You can interact with anyone from a common man to the celebrities either from any hollywood or bollywood. It helps you stay connected and updated about your favorite celebs and also build a good social circle.
User interface - User interface is a bit complicated as it is different from other social media site which we are more used to. But once you understand how it works, you will be enjoying your social presence there.
What to know - Be careful of troll accounts, they can come from all sides.
What is it like - You can tweet your thoughts, updates and anything else to your followers in 140 characters which is currently the tweet limit. When you will make a good friend circle on twitter then you will find it entertaining else it can be really boring.
There are few parody accounts also to look up to for some daily dose of humor.
All in all, it is by far, the best social site I have used. Try it.
