Ok guys, this is it! The DEFINITIVE Indian speed-bike rating! There ain't no 20 best bikes! These are all there are! GET REAL!

100 – 135 cc

Rank 1

The all time winner! The Yamaha RX – 100! The classic yesteryear bike. Amazing torque, great handling, let’s not talk about speed, and a beat to kill for! In short – no one’s EVER beaten this baby!

Status – Sadly out of production.

You can get a second-hand from b/w(6k to 10k). WILL need a visit to the mechanic of  course!

Rank 2

This bike comes in a close second. The Big Boss – that’s right the Suzuki Shogun! I’m talking about the 14.4 bhp model, not the downsized 10.8 bhp(after Suzuki ran a demographic check of population control due to rate of road-kill by the Boss!). Had it all going, except that you had to rebore the piston after every 20k kms!

Status – Out of production.

Second hand price b/w(8k to 15k)

Rank 3

The Yamaha RXZ. This is currently the fastest bike on Indian roads now! An unbeatable 14.4 bhp! Great looks, comes with a disc brake and a tachometer that is actually accurate!

Status – Currently in production

Price – 60k(on-road)

Rank 4

The Yamaha RX 135 comes in a close fourth! Read my “Need For Speed” review to make this bike jump from Rank 4 to Rank 1!

Status – Currently in production

Price – 50k(on-road)

250-500cc

Rank 1

The Yezdi Roadking! Absolutely unbeatable acceleration in its category. Sadly, many fakes are floating around. Because of Yezdi’s myriad models, it’s easy for a wily mechanic to convert a crappy Classic to a Roadking by switching logos and stickers!

Status – long out of production!

Price – 5k to 10k(max)

Rank 2

The Classic Royal Enfield Bullet 350cc baby! The desi – Harley! CANNOT be beaten on the highway. This one flies right outta sight!

Status – in production

Price – Second hand –(10k – 20k) - the pre ’95 models are heavier and get you a     much meatier thump!

First hand – 60k(on road)
