2003 was a fairly good year for bollywood. It had some fantastic movies though many of them were not recognized. I know that my review is pretty late but still, I could not resist writing. This year was a year of something fresh, something different from the normal masala movies. Here is a list of some of the best performers of 2003, but it is my opinion. I do not expect everyone to agree with all my choices but ?????
The Kal Ho Na Ho Trio- This movie had to be mentioned in every category. Saif?s high point, Srk good but the same and Priety Zinta just OK.The best had to be ????. Sweeto!!!!!!!
Manisha Koirala [ Escape From Taliban ] ? It was one of the most unnoticed performances last year. Its because though the script of the film was to some extent strong, the direction was horrible. But , Manisha did a splendid job!
Amitabh Bachan [Baghban] ? Do I need to give explanations for this one??????? Awesome movie, excellent performances and a brilliant and touching script.
Rekha [ Koi Mil Gaya & Bhoot]- Many of my friends might not agree with this but what I really wanted to appreciate was that, at this age, Rekha was sooooooo damn graceful, beautiful, and she carried herself so well and still acted so well!!
I loved her in both the movies.
Ajay Devgan [ Gangaajal] ? A strong performance by him of may be, just his eyes. But ,he is repeating the same kind of roles!!!! Hope he changes this in Masti?
Manoj Bajpai [Pinjar] ? He is again a wonderful , powerful & underrated actor. Though this movie was full of brilliant performances, I think he was the best.
Abhishekh Bacchan [Zameen and Kuch Naa Kaho]- Two different kinds of cinema and he did it with maturity. One of a tough A.C.P and one, a lover. I think ,he was the saving grace of KNK, because of its horrible story and horrible direction and of course, horrible Ashhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
Rahul Bose & Sanjay Suri[Jhankaar Beats]- This one is now one of my favorite movies. Sanjay Suri again gives a simple n mature performance with full justice to his role. Rahul Bose once again proves that he is a blessing to the Indian film Indusrtry
Nana Patekar [Bhoot] ? This man just does everything with his eyes and his body language. Anything more ????
11.Naseeruddin Shah and Nagesh Kukunoor [Teen Deewarein] -This movie really came up with something new and some real good acting. It had characters with meaning and emotions which were portrayed by these wonderful actors with great intensity.
Antara Mali and Rajpal Yadav [MMDBCH] ? This movie was a real break for both these wonderful stars. Antara proved her versatility after Road and Rajapl Yadav , that he is not just a side actor, but a real actor!!! Great going guys.
Boman Irani [Darna Mana Hai and Munnabhai MBBS]- This is called -------- BACK WITH A BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing laughs this man had.
8.Tanuja [Bhoot and Rules]- A great mother and a great Dadi!!
7.Om Puri and Revathi [Dhoop]- It was a beautiful and a real movie. Om Puri , as usual was great and Revathi proves herself again.
6.Rani Mukherji[Chalte Chalte]- The saving grace of this horrible, so called superhit movie. She looked beautiful and proved herself yet again as a wonderful actress.
5.Juhi Chawla [Teen Deewarein] ?At last Juhi proved that she could do much more than her usual bubbly , chirpy roles. She looked beautiful and decent all through though she was dressed in simple cotton sarees.
- Sushmita Sen [Samay] ? She acted well enough to be accepted as a tough lady cop! Yes, she can look much more than just cute and glamorous! A wonderful power packed and of course underrated performance by Sush. Keep it up!
3.Raveena Tondon [ Satta]- Oh!!!!! I don?t know how she missed awards for this film. One of the most well portrayed performances by her. [I don?t think Priety deserved the filmfare award] All right Raveena, we are used to it. The awards see only the public collections, not the acting. Sure you know that!!!!!
2.Urmila Matondkar [Bhoot]- 2003 very well belonged to her[ Bhoot, Pinjar and Tehzeeb] But bhoot, was something. Her acting in some scenes was such that I don?t think any other actress in this industry could have done it better. Picture perfect!!!
- Hritik Roshan [ Koi Mil Gaya] ? Anyone against this?????It had to be him. It was a savior for the sinking boat of his career. OK Hritik, you are not the next Kumar Gaurav!!!!!!!
This was all my opinion!!!!!!! Your comments are welcome!
P.S ? Oh! Come on!!!!!!!! Somebody put me in ur trust list!!!!!!!!!
