1) Salman Khan - Tere Naam. Talk about a comback, Salman comback has to ranked as probably the biggest and best comeback ever in Bollywood history. And with this wonderful comeback, he came up with his career-best performance in Tere Naam. Nobody, couldn't have enacted this role like how Salman did. I simply think he was robbed from the Critics actor award.
2) Hrithik Roshan – Koi Mil Gaya. Talk about doing something different, Hrithik excels as the mental kid. Hrithik deserved all the awards that had came to him (except the Critics Actor award for Koi Mil Gaya from Filmfare. Look cheat)
3) Manoj Bajpai – Pinjar. Here was one performance that went unnoticed and finally got recgonized at the National Awards. Manoj was simply amazing as Rashid in Pinjar. Its a shame a film like this had to flop. Indian people can't watch true quality cinema.
4) Amitabh Bachchan – Baghban. He's down, but for sure, he's not out. Amitabh seems to get better as age increases. In Baghban, he manage to bring tears in your eyes in the second half.
5) Irfan Khan – Haasil. Talk about a ruthless character, Irfan was excellent in Haasil that got him all the awards he deserve. Bravo and finally!
6) Urmila – Bhoot. If 2003 belonged to anyone, it was Urmila. Wow she was amazing in Bhoot. She deserve all the Best Actress award this film.
7) Urmila – Pinjar. No wonder why she is amazing. And Pinjar was no exception. However, if Bhoot gets her Best Actress, then Pinjar should enable her for Critics Actress.
8) Sushmita Sen – Samay. Finally a film that shows Sushmita Sen true acting capability.
9) Saif Ali Khan – Kal Ho Na Ho. I knew one day he'll succeed, and he for sure does in Kal Ho Na Ho. He was the show-stealer in Kal Ho Na Ho.
10) Sanjay Dutt – Munnabhai MBBS. Give Sanjay any role and he succeeds with flying colour. And Munnabhai MBBS is no exception.
11) Ajay Devgan – Gangaajal. As always, Ajay excels in every role you give him. However, he shined as the cop.
12) Paresh Rawal - Hungama. Lots of confusion and comedy in this film, however, all said and done, Paresh was the one who grabbed all the acclaim.
13) Nasseruddin Shah-Teen Deewarein. A next performance that went unnoticed. People of India needs to judge properly before they go and vote.
14) Juhi Chawla – Teen Deewarein. I was happy she got some awards for this excellent film. She deserved it.
15) Ajay Devgan – LOC - Kargil. Probably the best war film ever made in Bollywood, and it went to achieve flop status. Totally disgraceful. However, Ajay Devgan truly stand out in this film. The soldier he enacted should be proud of him.
16) Abhishek Bachchan – LOC-Kargil. Abhishek Bachchan was simply fantastic in LOC-Kargil. And his death scene hurt me alot. Also like Ajay Devgan, the soldier he enacted should be proud of him.
17) Hema Malini - Baghban. Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan suit as a couple. Hema was great in her role and backed Amitabh every step in the film.
18) Rekha – Koi Mil Gaya. As the mother of a mental child, it truly wasn't a easy role for Rekha. However, the sensation star scored high in this film. Rekha was simply robbed in this film. No doubt about it.
19) Boman Irani – Munnabhai MBBS. Boman Irani as Doctor Asthana was funny, oh man, he had me cracking as the man who believed in laughing therapy even through bad situations.
20) Arshad Warsi – Munnabhai MBBS. Oh man, like the theme I used. You can be down, but you are definitely not out. Arshad Warsi proved this theme with Munnabhai. And boy, he bagged some big awards as his role as Circuit.
