Tumbbad is unlike almost anything I have seen in Indian cinema, reminding me of Del Toro at his best. The fact this film was made for less than a million dollars is absolutely insane. LITERALLY INSANE. It has a beautiful style, fantastic acting from not only the adults but also the children, and the entire storyline is dowsed in mysterious mythology, symbolism, horror, and ethics. I love everything about it.
