The story begins in the town of Rajastan at the house of Thakur Pratap Singh. Thakur forces his son Vir to drink a disgusting mix of milk and raw eggs to make him strong as a wrestler. He is weak and isn’t into these kind of things, he’d rather be with his lover Muskaan. One day Thakur Pratap Singh spots Vir dancing with Muskaan and heads straight to her father’s house with a riffle in hand. Just as the audience thinks that this is another Thakur stopping two lovers marrying, it turns out to be a joke and he asks for Muskaan’s hand for Vir in marriage.
The film seems boring at the start but then things hot up. Muskaan presents Vir with a baby puppy and he’s lying down beside it when suddenly illusions take over his mind and he sees a viscous dog running towards him. The dog lashes out on him and Vir screams. The family comes running to see whats wrong and the camera focuses back on Vir but it’s the little puppy. The audience is instantly given the reaction that this film is either about a twin brother or re-carnation.
Confused and with no help from his parents Vir confides in Muskaan who takes him to a dhongi baba. Comedy enters the atmosphere as the baba played by none other than the hilarious Johnny Lever, thinks it’s a story about Karan Arjun, a famous film about two brothers and re-carnation and jumps into the dialogues. Vir is more confused than ever, as he wants to find out what’s wrong with him. He begins to see more illusions.
When one of Thakur’s friends from the army is sitting down with his shorts on, Vir notices the round mark on his leg. The man replies it is from a bullet shot at him. Vir goes to his room takes his shirt off and stands infront of the mirror. The camera zooms in onto his chest where the audience sees 5 bullet shots. He rushes back and confronts his dad who replies that his friend is joking because he is too embarrassed to admit that the mark was from broken glass but Vir is far from convinced. The next big scene is at Muskaan’s engagment party when a gang of thugs attacks Vir and say that he escaped Mumbai. There is a lot of action here as the attackers are killed but force Thakur to reveal his family secret. Vir is not his son, his real son (played by Salman Khan's brother Arbaaz Khan) was called Vir who was killed as he was called to fight with the army. At the pouring of the ashes of the dead real Vir, in water Thakur bent down and found him and took him to hospital. When he woke up he called the real Vir’s mum, ‘ma’ so she began to call him Vir and accepted him as his son…
The Questions
Who is the current Vir? Where is his family? Who tried killing him and why? Why does he see these illusions?
Salman Khan, has been a great actor since day one. He has recreated the magic with his natural acting and performed his scenes well whether its action, emotion or comedy. The audience feels close to his character after the story behind him is revealed.
Diya Mirza does not do such a good job as she becomes annoying as the young Rajastan girl. However, she looks beautiful and masoom and tries her best.
Although, I have not mentioned Sushmita Sen’s character in my review, she has played a wonderful part in the film. She looks beautiful and mature. I am not going to reveal what her character is in the film. That’s for you to find out!
The music is average not something to good yet it was fit nicely in place and did flow with the story. The director has done a good job as each scene flows from one to the other and no scene is out of place. His action sequal do not drag on but entertain!
Overall, a fantastic film action packed with a thick plot!
