Meet Tracy McGrady. Celebrated guard of the Orlando Magic and leading point scorer (points-per-game) so far in the 2002-2003 season, with 32.1 points each game. 3 time NBA All-Star, T-Mac is a cousin of the Toronto Raptor's Vince Carter. You may have heard of him! ;). Incidentally, they both used to play in the Raptors along with Vince before the Magic changed their fortunes by trading off their first-round pick for T-Mac in the 2000 season.
T-Mac's statistics have gone up ever since as he has constantly averaged over 25 points per game for the Magic. And that's in three seasons straight. And don't forget the 15-odd consecutive games that T-Mac scored 30+ points before scoring just around the high-20s in his next game. He definitely has the skill to go through, being a great shooter (free throws and three pointers especially) as well as an exciting dunker.
With 6 years of NBA-experience under his belt, T-Mac now has the ideal launching pad to become the next big thing in the NBA, after Jordan and Shaq. He can combine his great exhilaration, skill and maturity to devastate any opposition. Although the Magic have qualified into the playoffs at 7th or 8th seed this year, if T-Mac continues on with his current form, with contributions from other experienced team-mates like Shawn Kemp and Chris Whitney, the Magic could well be on their way to NBA Fame.
One just has to watch this man perform to see how great he is. Watch out for him in the next few NBA seasons (hoping that ESPN/Star finally decide to break out of Football to show some high-quality basketball), coz I'm sure he's gonna get the Magic some championship gold.
