I really trust the Toastmaster brand and when I read the features and saw it was on sale, the deal was clinched! I bought my new Toastmaster Grill for $45.00! What a bargain! This griddle is the best I’ve ever seen! First of all, it has a backstop so your food won’t slide off when you attempt to push your spatula beneath it. (That’s great for people like me who always seem to have a problem with spatulas! LOL) Another great feature about this griddle is that the polyester rim stays cool. My grandmother often said that a good cook burns herself (or himself) at least once a year. I must be a GREAT cook because I burn myself at least once a month! That’s why I like this polyester cool edge. It’s one less burn I have to experience. Unlike most griddles, the Toastmaster Cool-Edge Grill is just a bit wider and longer measuring a full 15x10-1/2 inches. That makes for a whole lotta pancakes! The non-stick cooking surface is coated to prevent foods from sticking and making a mess. (I can do that without any help!) Between the cooking surface and the cool-edge is a deep grease channel. What a terrific idea! The grease that builds up from bacon or burgers rolls off the griddle into the channel and flows gently to the front where it falls into the grease cup that easily slides out for emptying. Talk about convenience!
This appliance comes with a detachable temperature control electrical cord. The temperatures range from 200° to 400° Fahrenheit and shows the temperature needed for various items (bacon- 325°,burgers – 250°, etc.). While I’m mentioning the cord, I should tell you that it measures about 2-1/2 feet long so it’s long enough to make it to the electrical socket but short enough not to get in your way. Guess by now you’re under the impressed I’ve found a wonderful appliance, huh? Well, feast your eyes on this tidbit! ONCE YOU REMOVE THE TEMPERATURE PROBE THE GRIDDLE IS COMPLETELY SUBMERSIBLE! That’s right! You can stick the entire thing in the sink and wash it! No more having to juggle one end to keep it out of water. How’s that for an electrical appliance!? Believe me, the more I use this appliance, the more I like to cook. Oh, don’t tell that to my hubby – I’ve finally gotten him to agree to dinners out twice a month. After all, I AM retired!
