I have multiple Tissot wrist-watches (I have a watch collection) and briefly I can say Tissot is very good value for money among Swiss watches. Tissot is Tier B in Swiss watch environment - (Tag Heuer, Rolex, Omega, etc being the Tier A grade).
The beauty of Tissot is they have a very wide collection among Swiss watches - I have Analog-Digital combo (TXL 7 multifunction), Chronograph (TXL Chronograph) & TXS, a Gents-Ladies collection of Ballade, also a gold watch (Bridgeport). I bought/was gifted these watches during various occasions in India as well as overseas.
Tissot watches are affordable - the cheapest ones are in the range of Rs. 6000/- onwards - much the same you would spend on a good Titan or Citizen. They are very accurate - the quartz ones, and somewhat robust too. I still have and maintain my father's 1957 model Tissot Sea King hand wound model which is of vintage value today. I was offered, and declined Rs. 55,000/- alone for that beauty!
Needless to say - maintaining these watches do take some care - I NEVER take them anywhere but a authorized service center for battery replacement/gasket change/etc...we have an excellent network of Tissot dealers and service centers all over India.
If you want to go for an affordable genuine Swiss watch brand - Tissot is the best buy!
Now I shall concentrate on the Tissot I consider my best watch :
This is a trendy ana-digi model - the steel TXL 7 Multifunction watch. It has alarm, stopwatch, countdown timer, two independent time zones (this comes very handy if you interact with overseas clients) along with excellent accuracy, a sapphire crystal and 30m water resistant, solid elegant steel bracelet, and a sturdy all steel main watch block. The dial is black. The only drawback is that it does not have radium dial/internal light, but in the city - that is not a problem.
This watch costs about Rs 21,000/- but is a joy to wear and will last (mine is 3 yrs old but if Tissot has maintained the same quality since my father's time, then it will again outlast me).
Now the main USP - I did not have ANY issues whatsoever - no fast/slow, no stoppages, no water entry, in any of my Tissots since last 5 years! Just keep replacing the battery when prompted by the 2 sec jump of the second hand, or the blinking digital display - and wear, wear, wear all the time!
