Turbo charging is an advertising term for fast charging introduced by Motorola. It was the first brand to feature this in their budget phones. Mainly in the Moto G line Up. Starting with Moto G turbo, amd Then Moto G4, G5 and so On.

The technology on which Turbo chargers work is actually Quick Charge which was developed by Qualcomm and only specific processors from Qualcomm support this technology. for example snapdragon 615, 616, 617, 625, 626, 630, 820, 821, 835 etc. In some cases, it could be disabled by the mamufacturer.

I am myself a Moto G4 Plus user and im very well aware of this technology. Down below are some tips for you that will clear all your doubts about Turbo charging.

( 1) Use the original Data cable with th Turbo charger to charge your phone, using a Third party cable may not be able to charge the phone fast. Moreover, it can lead to slow charging. That has happened with me before.

( 2) Do note that turbochargers cannot fast charge any phone. As I mentioned only phones with specific QC processor are supported. These fast chargera work at varying current and voltage in order to provide High output. For standard phones they will work like any 5 Volt, 1.5 Amp Charger. i.e. 7.5 W

( 3) To get the best results, plug the Turbo charger into the wall and not an extension or flex box as it may Limit its Output

( 4) To make sure you device supports turbo charging go to its official website or check it out on GSM Arena dot com. Or you can simply conect your phone to a Turbo charger with the screen off. Now if you see a dialog'Turbopower Connected' then it means the phone is fast charging, otherwise Not.

( 5) Quick Charge officially works only up to 78% . After that even the turbo charger will work like a Normal Charger.

( 6) Make sure the phone is not Heating too much, because once the phone reaches 44°C, it cannot be fast charged anymore to prevent damage to your phone. Always keep this in mind

Currently, I am using a 25 W Moto X Play Turbo charger to Charge my Moto G plus, however the Charging times are same as with the Stock 15 W Turbo Charger. I personally like the New 15 W Turbo charger because it comes with a Detachable Usb cable which is longer too as compared to the Old Style charger.
