Hypotension though not as common as hypertension, but is a more dreadlier condition than hypertension. Severe hypotension or fall in Blood pressure can lead to shock or collapse. Hypotension occurs when the BP falls below 110/70 mm Hg. The main cause would be poor diet, malnutrition, severe dehydration, blood loss etc. It is important to tackle hypotension before it can cause grievous injury. Here are some healthy tips which must be followed by hypotensives.1) Consuming balanced diet containing adequate carbohydrates, proteins like fruits and vegetables will be very effective for long term prevention.2) Adequate fluid intake is a must. The main cause for hypotension is dehydrated state. So it is adviced always to keep body hydrated.3) Increasing salt consumption in meals can be very effective for maintaining bp level.4) It is advised to carry some amount of salt and sugar and consume whenever you feel dizzy or giddiness.5) Excess alcohol can cause dehydrated state and may deteriorate hypotension. So it is better to avoid alcohol.6) Indulging in yoga and mild exercise can help to increase blood flow throughout the body.7) It is adviced to consult the doctor at regular intervals and also during any issues like weakness or collapse.
