TO-DO List for an Effective interview.
Jan 02, 2018 11:34 AM 4273 Views

Good morning to all the viewers of MouthShut.com. I will be pointing out some of Key things that will help us to crack any kind of Interview.

Now what is an Inerview? It's nothing but some kind like WAR with our own Fear deep inside us and by taking the Help of our common sense and Knowledge reach at the Goal which is just opposite the Line of Control.

Now I have seen that many of us fear to face an Interview. I also had gone through the same phase and hence I list out some of the key points which will help us to suceed.

a. Know youself: This is the main thing that we need to know first, yes it is ourselves. We have to make ourselves ready for that situation. We need to acquire that positive vibe that will help us a lot during shooting the answers.

b. Do a bit homework: I have also seen many of the people just drop in to attend the interview, but when they are questioned whether they have any idea for which process they give this answer, "I do not know, I just got to know that there are openings and hence I came". Now this is awkward.

Hence we should take out sometime and then do a bit research about the Organization for which we will be facing the interview. This will indeed make us more comfortable with the interviewer.

c. Simple and informative resume: I won't comment much on this as everybody does hold a good resume. But according to me the Resume is nothing but you in front of the interviewer. Hence it shold be simple with our names and achievements and also the important dates highlighted. In this way the interviewer will find easy to navigate through the same.

d. How to prepare the Interview questions: Nowadays there are many websites where in most of the questions that might be asked in the interview are listed out. Many of us tend to remember the answers line by line and that is what we should refrain from. If we try to remember and then tell the same to the interviewer if we forget a single word also we will tend to fumble with our words and hence THE END.

Hence preparation is good but not mugging up everything line by line.

e. Time: Time is something that we need to follow. We should try to be at the venue always around 15-20 minutes prior the scheduled time for the interview. This will help us to be more comfortable.

f. Dress code: Now this is somewhere that I would like to point my own feelings. Many of us tend to go in Complete Formals, like Black/Brown Pants and white Shirts. But why does only these colors come in to our mind. We can chose any other colors.

What needs to be taken care is that we are looking descent in out clothes. I have friends who have gone in a pair of JEANS and casual Plain Shirt. They look good and yes they have been selected too. We need to remember we need to be ourselves first only then we can tackle the questions.

g. Now some etiquettes for inside the Interview room: > Do not rush in. Walk normally and be confident. What I follow is if I see that the Interviewer is quiet aged I greet him "Good Morning/Noon Sir, I am here for the interview". And if they are quiet young then be casual, "Hi There, May I come in?". In this way we can make a bond with the person in front of us and he will also get a positive vibe about us. > We need to make sure that we are not rushing towards the answer. We need to an active listener, let him complete what he wants to know and then proceed. > Maitaining Eye Contact. This is very important as just look at the interviewers eyes while answering, in this way we can gain more confidence. > Never argue with the interviewers. Sometimes the person who is in front of us will try to check our patience level and hence they might ask some of the things that we do not want to answer or it can not be. At that time just let them know in a very confident voice that you can't. That's all.

h. Now the last thing, please avoid asking. Sir/Madam, "Am I selected?". This is something that many of us tend to ask and needs to be avoided.

We need to remember that its just an Interview and whether we get selected or not, we will definitely learn many things and will gain more confidence.
