Is Megapixel everything for a good camera??

Whenever we buy a new mobile phone we always ask the seller about the camera and the seller only replied in terms of Megapixels. For example, this phone has a 12 Megapixel camera, that phone has 16 Megapixel camera and he never tells us about the more important things that really matters for a good camera.

Dear friends, MEGAPIXELS IS NOT EVERYTHING TO MAKE A CAMERA PERFECT.

Today I am going to share a really important note for tech lovers especially who wants a good camera in their mobile phones. Let's start.

The most important thing in a camera is a sensor on which the pixels are arranged which capture the light ( or information) from outside and convert it into an image. Remember, larger the sensor size, more light it can capture and thus clearer image you will get. Now suppose two mobile phones with a similar sensor size, but one of them having greater numbers of pixels ( Megapixels) , then it is very clear that the size of individual pixels will have to be smaller in the phone which is having greater Megapixel camera. And in this situation the phone with greater Megapixel camera will not give a better image because its pixels are smaller and unable to capture more information from the surrounding. For example, many Samsung and Sony mobile phones give very clear images than other smartphones even when they contains less Megapixel camera. The reason is bigger sensor size and thus bigger individual pixels size.

The next important thing is the lens aperture. Yes, the size of lens aperture play the biggest role in low light photography. You must be aware about a number like f/2.0, f/1.8, f/2.2 etc. This number represents the size of lens aperture and written in every good smartphone. But here is one thing to note about this number. Smaller the number greater will be the aperture size. For example, aperture with f/1.8 is bigger than the aperture with f/2.0. Or aperture with f/2.0 is bigger than the aperture with f/2.2. It is clear as you can see numeric value is in denominator.

Another consideration is the type of sensor. There are two major types of sensors used in mobile phones, BSI and CMOS. I am not going in depth of the topic so I am just giving an example here, most of the Samsung's and Sony's devices are packed with BSI sensors.

So my friends, I think now you have a good idea about what to see in a camera. Thank you.
