Be your own drugless doctor if possible

Dr Aseem malhotra a Uk based, Indian Cardiologist who is  fighting against the use of too much sugar in many factory foods, said - " too much medicine is killing us ".

A book by the title - "death by prescription" is very famous as it brings to the fore the ill effects of  the modern medicine . That only masks the symptoms  and at most times doesn't treat the organ .

I think when buying medicine it's important to remember what socrates said - "let food be thy medicine and medicine(herbs) be thy food ." Let the kitchen be  your first pharmacy .

I have been my own drugless doctor since 2005, its been 10 long years .if I can pull it off you can too .

I may have taken an occasion painkiller for a toothache when the pain was excruciating intolerable but that's about it .

I have never felt the need  to visit any physician over the last decade . I have never done any blood work in this period.

I believe if i'm eating right and nutritious nature will take care of my body . I just align to nature and its taken care of me all along .

Not that I never got fever or mild illnesses but instead of consuming modern medicine .i simply rested and fasted  if need be . Within a day or 2 I would always bounce back .

Also in extreme cases I might take a trishun for influenza or tulsi for cough and cold, or chandraprabha vati for UTI's  but these are ayurvedic medicines for which I never needed to consult anyone .

Do we really need  medicine .maybe yes in extreme cases  but it can be homeopathic, ayurvedic and even functional medicine . As Dr mark Hyman a doctor of functional medicine  would say treat by system not by geography or organ and depression is a not a prozac deficiency .attention deficit not a Ritalin deficiency .

Maybe all one needs to do is just fix  your  gut, manage nutritional deficiencies, remove all allergens, fix  the thyroid and deeply relax. That's how functional medicine works . Its treats  your whole system and not the organ .

The modern medicine should be used only in cases of emergencies or extreme illnesses . They can be highly potent but at the same time very nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic .

Dr hyman when asked if he was a holistic doctor, smiles and quips - no i'm a doctor who treats a whole list of problems .im connect the dots doctor, who treats  the system and  not the symptoms .

He suggests you may be depressed as you may be B12 deficient or taking too little magnesium which is a relaxation mineral . Or maybe your  tooth filling maybe causing mercury toxicity . or maybe you have gluten intolerance which in turn causes brain fog and depression  .

Than all you might need to do is eat  nuts and seeds for magnesium, take B12 supplements/ take nutrient dense food  and remove the mercury filling . Remove wheat and thereby gluten found in wheat and some other grains  . That's how you connect the dots and that's how you treat the system and not the symptom by masking it by prozac for depression .

manage your platter, your allergies and your deficiencies maybe that's  all you ever needed .What you find at the end of  the fork is 3 times more powerful than what you will ever find at the end of a pill bottle .

You can heal with meals or  kill with meals . Its upto you .

if were you I would summon dr resting and dr fasting before I decide to meet a physician .
