In India corruption is everywhere, so how can liquor business be away from that.
If you like to consume expensive Liquor. Please beware!
In India it is common practice to use the Bottle of an expensive brand and fill a cheap liquor inside that. I myself experienced that in the past. Now, one question may arise in your mind that how did I get to know that I was drinking the duplicate one? It is very easy to identify and you can also do it.
It can be identified with the taste, smell and the smoothness of the liquor. If you have bought an expensive liquor but it smells or tastes like a cheap one, it is duplicate. A cheap liquor is hard on your throat, so when you drink it, you feel it in your throat and chest. Also, a cheap liquor hits very fast and hard whereas an expensive liquor hits very slowly and mildly. So, if you bought an expensive liquor but it hit hard and fast and you feel irritation in throat, it is duplicate.
It is very easy to sell the duplicate one. When you throw your bottle after drinking. The same is used to refill with a cheaper liquor. Now, your old bottle have barcode, manufacturing date, serial number and actual name and logo of the company so the new buyer would not doubt the authenticity of the bottle. Sealing the bottle again is also possible.
So how to avoid buying a duplicate expensive liquor.
First, try to buy from the biggest shop available in your city.
Always buy the least demanded brand in your price range. Reason being there is always a scarcity of the most demanded brands in the market, hence more duplicity. For example, Blenders Pride is the most demanded in its price range. So avoid it and buy Signature, Antiquity, Rockford etc which are almost in the same price range.
If you live near to Delhi, always by liquor from authorized shop in Delhi. In Delhi, there are less chances of a duplicate liquor bottle.
