Tips on assembling a computer

Personal computers coming from OEMs or Original equipment manufacturers cost more than what their actual value is. Because they spend a lot of money in advertising, Research aNd Development and what not. So its a good idea to assemble a PC yourself. However its not as easy as it looks like.

There are a few tips that you must keep in mind while assembling a PC:

( 1) Choose the right motherboard. All essential parts of a computer are installed on the motherboard and each motherboard has unique sockets and ports that decide what kind of hardware you can put in your system.

For example, My system has an Intel H61 motherboard. It is an old motherboard which supports only 2nd gen Core processors and ddr3 ram. It does not have any usb 3 port. While newer mb's have support for 7th gen core Cpus and ddr4 ram.

( 2) Get a processor thats fit for your needs. In general, any quad core cpu would be more than enough for you. Like the Intel core i5-7400. Buying an older generation cpu is basically useless because they have a high power consumption. So make sure to get the latest gen cpu. Go for Intel

( 3) For a good performance, make sure to have at least 4GB of ram but if you want to game, then get 8GB of RAM. Companies lIke Samsung, G.skill and Corsair are the best Ram manufacturers so go for any of them.Keep in mind that the 6th and later gen processors from Intel work only with DDR4 rams.

( 4) Buy a hard drive that is the cheapest. Mechanical hard drives are slow and they all work the same way so theres not much of a difference between hard drives coming from different manufacturers like Seagate and Western Digital. But if you want performance, then go for an SSD. They are like flash drives & perform 10 times as fast as a normal 7200 rpm HDD

( 5) Choose the right video card.and ONLY buy Nvidia. Note that if you dont game on your computer, you dont need it but if you like to play games then you should consider a gtx series card. Like the gtx 1050 Ti. It is perfect for 1080p gaming

( 6) Buy an 80+ Power supply. They have an efficiency of at least 80% . A 400 to 500 W power supply from a rupted brand like Seasonic or Corsair should be more tham enough for your needs. It will power up all the components inside the system with ease.

( 7) Selecting a case is up to your preference. But they come in three different sizes like mini-itx, micro atx and atx. Mini itx is the smallest with less no of ports, while micro atx is bigger and atx is the biggest. The type of your motherboars will determine the lind of casd you need but generally speaking any kind of motherboard will fit inside an atx case because its the biggest.

( 8) Choose the right monitor. If you are on a budget say 5000 rs then you can buy any 1366* 768 resolution monitor, but if you want the best picture quality then I will suggest you to buy a 1922* 1080 monitor. But whatever monitor you choose, make sure it has an hdmi port because Lower resolution monitors generally doesnt have an hdmi port and vga port decrease the picture clarity.
