I am a student of inter 2nd year in Andhra pradesh which is equivalent to plus in other states.I dont think the present system helps the students in anyway for the simple reason that it neither benefits the creative minded nor the intelligent and neither the dull heads and the average heads are left hanging in between.This is era of cut throat competition 90% is no longer good enough people ask you what happened to the remaining marks.Also in AP there is a craze for eamcet that is joint entrance test for engineering and medicine can u imagine the fees in corporate colleges for plus 2 its any where between Rs40,000 for two years toRs 80,000 for two years.I got a free seat though because I got 90% marks in tenth class.
Even then its sweat and grime 16 hours of study 7 days a week with tests every wednesday and sunday.Another thing about junior colleges in AP is that they cheat people.Every year after EAMCET they publish the photographs of students who got through the EAMCET with top ranks and announce discounts .
Parents think if they join their children in such colleges they are sure to get a seat this cannot be nearer to the truth.The students are grouped according to their marks the students who get 90% and above get free seats and excellent couching and are placed in top sections like for instance jlm1 it stands for junior leo medicine 1.
Leo inturn stands for long term eamcet oriented.
Normally the students in top two sections get the best of the facilities and the most experienced faculty.While the students with lower marks are placed in lower sections and have to shell down all the money that is the fees.They also dont get the good lecturers infact the students in last four sections get only junior lecturers that is the the people who have just passed msc.
It does good to nobody.So many students have got frustrated and have commited suicides ,parents dont understand either.
Junior lecturers are no good as they dont have experience they cannot clear are doubts either I mean to our satisfaction.
We have to get it cleared from the experienced lecturers for which an hour is given each day but we find the time not sufficient.
The intelligent students get bored by the repetition while the dull heads cannot stand the competition
In short inter students most of them in AP have sad stories to tell.
