1) First of all the important thing is the sound quality of the earpiece. There are many people who stress verymuch on the sound quality. Bass is an important consideration which people check before buying one. So for those who are very much strict about bass and other effects, its better to buy from well known companies. 2) Second factor into consideration is the cost. There are several earphones available with almost same sound quality but vary in cost. It is always better to compare the earphone in one site with the other online site for the price. For those who are not very much strict about sound quality, good quality material earphones with above average sound quality of philips earphones are available for low price.
3) Next thing you must be aware is the type of earphone. Two variants are available. Over-ear and on-ear earphones. The benifits of on-ear ones are a slight edge in portability and weight, while over-ear ones are better at blocking outside noise and usually tops in sound quality.
4) Next thing to know is there are two models based on plugging to the phone or computer viz: wireless earphones and wired ones.
