Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal is a palace which is situated in the madurai city in tamilnadu. Madurai is my native place. I went there a lot of times.
It is situated in the heart of the city. Also 2 km from meenakshi amman temple. The King Thirumalai Nayakkar build this palace, who is ruled the city madurai in the year AC 1636. This information is listed there in the board.
Now the 1/4 th of the palace is remaining there. Rest of the palace is destroyed by the time of Independence fight.
This palace is look like Muslim building structure. palace height is 58 ft. Totally 248 pillars are there. These pillars are holding the entire palace structure.
A lot of drawings are painted in the wall and in the floor. All the painting describe the lord shiva story.
A famous program "Sound and light scene" conducted everyday at 6 pm. This show describe the king's ruling and day to day events. That show is very much colorful.
There are a lot of hotels and restaurants are there to stay.
It is situated in the main and heart of the madurai city. So safety is 100%.
