Today I will share some of my experience and knowledge about Thenmala, which is one of my favorite tourist location, I have visited there a couple of times, it is one of the beautiful place in Kerala, which will never disappoint a tourist in terms of natural beauty.
Thenmala is place situated at kollam district, which is not much difficult to catch for the tourists, Then name " Thenmala" too have a beautiful meaning. The name is combined of two word one is Then which means Honey and Mala which means Hill or mountain, as the meaning suggests this is area is very well famous for good honey, Thenmala is now one of the famous Tourist attraction in kerala, and this area is undertaken by the Goverment of Kerala under the program Eco-Tourism.
My Suggestions to do at Thenmala( Things to Do):
@ Palaruvi Waterfalls: This is a place where most of the tourist never miss at thenmala, the word Palaruvi means that stream of milk, the water over there is very pure and clean, Palaruvi is near to thnemala which is just around 10 - 15 km in distance and its very easy to catch, the best time to visit palaruvi is in the month of January to june
@ Musical Dance Fountain at Thenmala: This is another eye soothing event at thenmala which a tourist can never forget once it is watched, This is a water fountain which dances according to the music, this programme is usually conducted at night time which give a refreshment to tourists.
@ Thenmala Dam: This is a very famous Dam in Kerala, and this is a Dam where tourists prefer to view at kerala, the surrounding areas nearby to this Dam is very attractive, boating services will e also available in the day time.
@ ==Butterfly Safari Park=: This is another eye soothing park at Thenmala, this park is fully covered with a wide varieties of plants and herbs, a wide varieties of butterflies are available at this park.

From ThiruvAnasultanmthapuram : 70 - 75 Km By Road
From ErAnasultankulam: 180 - 190 km By Road
Near by town: Punalur
