Going by info I knew and from my own experience after seeing the movie, I had to write this review for others to know.
Inspired by true events, THE REVENANT is supposed to be a visceral cinematic experience immersing you into a narrative about capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival of one man. The extraordinary power of the human spirit is highlighted in this movie. It shows how love for family and the will to survive all odds can make one win against insurmountable odds.
. During an expedition in uncharted American wilderness areas, legendary explorer Hugh Glass( Leonardo DiCaprio) is shown suffering a brutal attack by a bear. This leaves him mortally wounded and he is left for dead.After being abandoned and left for dead by members of his own hunting group, the movie shows how he endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald( Tom) .
He must survive a vicious winter in a relentless struggle of sheer willpower to live and find redemption. He does it for love of his family.
Pretty good movie to watch, if you ask me.
