Story:

The title “ The monk who sold his Ferrari” had captivated me to go through this book which helps one to grow through it and later it captivated my soul too.

The author Robin Sharma had played a significant role in emphasizing the values one should follow to lead a happy and meaningful life by giving examples of stories, analogies, through Julian mantle's experiences.

This work is a fable. It is about a successful lawyer named Julian Mantle whose life changes all of a sudden when he gets a heart stroke.

It is in retrospection about his life which undergoes questioning oneself. When we are preoccupied with the fable, we are transported into realms of our existence which deal with our life’s issues, how we complain about being busy all the time, without truly living in the moment, about the principles we need to follow. It gives a glimpse of how we have become materialistic in this rat race world without truly living but leaving and missing out on all the joys in our lives. As a reader one can relate and connect to themselves about the fountain of words that were present.

In every so-called successful business tycoon is a suppressed soul which is trapped and withered and is in chains. Though man is liberated we can see that everywhere he is in chains.

Through Julian's eye-opening words we can visualize a world that has become dystopian. The adage “All that’s glitters is not gold” can be justified in Julian’s lifestyle. Though he appears to be that one person who consists of everything he becomes so restless and unhappy later in his life which leads him to undergo a path of self-discovery. One’s appearances, lavish lifestyle might fool us, as there can be an inner agony within them.

He stresses us to improve our inner world and practice self-improvement. We can see that common sense is not so common these days. Let’s loosen up the constraints we have imposed on ourselves.

One of the best quotes I have come across is “success on the outside means nothing unless you also have success within”

Sure we might have experienced the worst but that’s water in the bridge now. Let’s bade goodbye to everything that consumes us. The fast and furious life had made man land in chaos and utter disorder. Let’s live a life that is not fast and furious.

He quotes” We should make a lot of living in our life

But instead, we focus on making a lot of money in our life”.

The wisdom Julian had acquired and shared has an immense potential to change our lives. The principles, values are if adopted well can be life-changing. Follow your instincts and blossom into the person you had always dreamt of.
