We had horrible experience during the stay from 23-July-18 to 24-July-18 in “The Chariot Resort & Spa”, Puri. Three numbers of Delux rooms were booked through Panchwati group, Kolkata and none of the basic services were provided to us. On complaining, the hotel manager denied to take any responsibility and informed that those rooms were under Panchwati Group and Chariot group are not responsible for maintenance. The manager remained silent when we asked that why did they allow the Panchwati group to use their brand name if they(Panchwati) are not maintaining as per the desired standard. Also, the food ordered was not delivered and later they denied the ordering. We were extremely irate, the restaurant manager then managed some half cooked food for the children! A few of the issues listed below along with snaps:
1.They took additional lodging charge of Rs.3000/- for 3 children(9yrs, 12 yrs, 13 yrs.), which was directly taken at the front desk. If the service and booking of the rooms are under Panchwati Group, then how did they charge in addition towards accommodation? And after charging how did they simply deny to take any responsibility for the maintenance of the rooms?
2.None of the AC did work in spite of several complaints and even after changing the room
3.All the 1st floor Delux rooms are stinky, walls are damp, full of patches and stains, the condition of furniture are equally pathetic, never cleaned as those look like. The mattress doesn’t fully cover the bed, the fungus was there on sofa covers. No remote for AC was there. Tata Sky was not recharged in some of our rooms and even LCD was not there - all completely different than what expected!
4.No maintenance of bathrooms as well. Water is dropping off the ceiling and walls, continuously water leaking out of the cistern, dirt, and stain everywhere, toiletries are not provided without asking - all the on the contrary of what promised in the website. Moreover, the earthworm is moving around.
5.We had to wait for an hour to get food in the restaurant and then did not receive complete ordering. While complaining the simply denied of ordering the dish of chicken. Later the floor manager assured to provide something quickly and they gave half cooked chili chicken as a side dish with nun, which children could not eat. This proves the standard and knowledge of the staffs!
- The Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby and not in the rooms which is outrageous if you want to work and this too is misleading on the hotels' site.
7.Swimming pool is not maintained properly, there are insects inside.
There is a lot to add. Simply STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
