Music has always been my passion. This year was no different. Although the Hindi Film Music this year didnt possess the quality of yesteryears but still there were some that really made us sit up and take notice.
For me the pick of the movie songs this year were,
(They are not in any particular order)
Awaarapan(Jism) - Good soul searching music accompanied by stirring https://lyrics.
Geet Gaata Hai, Gungunata Hai Yeh Sama(Yeh Kya Ho Raha hai) - Light Hearted No. Couple of them really cool. Although Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy had some Dil Chahta hai hangover but still some songs were good.
3. Allah ke Bande(Waisa Bhi Hota hai 2) - Once again superb lyrics accompanied by sound music and a very simple voice.
Kuch to hua hai( Kal Ho na Ho) - This underplayed song from the this year's chartbuster album is really cool. Sung beautifully by industry's leading 2 voices, this is far better than the more popular numbers from the movie.
Waada Raha(Khaaki) - This is one of my favorite romantic songs from this year. Beautiful Music by newcomer Ram Sampat and sung and picturised even more beautifully.
Tu Aashiqui Hai(Jhankaar Beats) - This whole album was really worth treasuring. Before its release this Album was billed as a tribute to Pancham da. Though failed to recreate that aura miserably the music director duo do leave there imprint on it. Good work!
Dum(Dum) - For a change a fast number in my list. But this song is just too good. Just listen to the guitar and you ll be spell bound.
'Dum, Is Gaane mein Dum'. Really.
Main Kahin Bhi Rahoon(LOC) - Again a slow number but really worth it.Dont compare it with any Malik's composition for JP and you ll find all the ingredients for good music in it.
Suno Naa(Chalte Chalte) - This is once again a superb composition, aided by wonderful lyrics from Jaaved Akhtar.
10.Pyaar ke Naam pe(Rules) - This is a sweet song as sweet as this movie. Wonderfully sung and
written.
Other than this there were songs from Saaya, Supari that were also wonderful.Point to Note here is most of these noteworthy songs have been composed by relative newcomers and that is a welcome sign. With Sandesh, Ram Sampat, Sandeep Chowta, Mohile, Shankar trio && Vishal-Shekhar the future beckons for Music industry.
