Tu pyaar ka saagar hain
teri ek boond ke pyaase hum
lautaa jo diya tumne, chale jaayenge jahaan se hum
tu pyaar ka saagar hain
Most of us have the habit of turning towards God only when we are very sad. He is always our first and last resort. He alone has power to give life as well as snatch it back. Someone is battling with his life, I just have an humble request that when you read each song, please say a small prayer for those who are battling with their lives.
Prayers can work wonder, I know it very well since my own diabetic sister recovered after going into deep coma, not once but five times, once even the doctors had given up hope completely. Two months back when someone from my extended family died, I stopped believing in miracles and prayers. I have already started praying again, now I want to start believing in miracles again. I want that person to thank you all himself after his recovery.
1) Jaise suraj ki garmi se jalte huae tan ko
Mil jaye taruvar ki chhaya
Aisa hi sukh mere mann ko mila hai
Main jabse sharan teri aaya, mere ram
Bhatka hua mera mann tha koi
Mil na raha tha sahara
Laharon se ladati hui naav ko
Jaise mil na raha ho kinara (2)
Us ladakhadati hui naav ko jo
Kisi ne kinara dikhaya
One can find solace only in worship of God. This song is not so famous but has deep meaning. I am lost to the world when I hear this song. It is a song sung with full devotion by the Sharma Brothers in Parinay.
2) Bhar do jholi meri Ya Muhammad
Laut kar mein na jaoonga khali
Bhar do jholi meri ...
Bhar do jholi meri Sirkar-E-Madina
Bhar do jholi meri Tajdar-E-Madina
This Qawwali has always been my favourite devotional song. It is sung for the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), the Messenger of God. Previously I always began my day by hearing it, there was never a festival when I wouldn’t listen to it. It has very beautiful lyrics and I usually listen to it at night so I don’t get disturbed. This qawwali is sung by the famous Sabri Brothers.
3) Ai maalik Tere bande hum
Aise ho humaare karam
Neki par chalen
Aur badi se talen
Taaki hanste huae nikle dum
This song is special to me coz I get to learn from it that I should never stray from the right path and I have been listening to it from a very young age. This song is from a great movie called Do Aankhen Barah Haath, which always inspired me. This movie compels us to believe that there is goodness even in a criminal , with little love and care he can be reformed.
4) Itni shakti hamen de na daata
Manka vishwas kamzor ho na
Ham chalen nek raste pe humse
Bhulkar bhi koi bhool ho na
This song always boosts up my morale, I always listen to it when I feel low. It reinforces my belief in God and that He alone will guide me and I will never go wrong under His benevolent guidance. This song is from Ankush, one of my favourite movie.
5) Hum ko mann ki shakti dena, mann vijay karen
Doosronki jay se pehale, khudki jay karen
Hum ko man ki shakti dena
Bhed-bhaav apne dilse, saaf kar saken
Doosron se bhool ho toh, maaf kar saken
Jhooth se bache rahen, sach ka dum bharen
Doosronki jay se pehale, khudki jay karen
Hum ko mann ki shakti dena
A wonderful prayer song which requests God to bestow upon us a strong character, will power and the ability to forgive others. A song which inspires one to follow the path of truth.
6) Keshawa madhwa tuzhya namat re godhwa
Tuzhyasarkha tuch dev tula kunacha nahi hewa
Veloveli sankatuni tarisis manva
Veda houni bhaktisathi gopgadysah yamunakathi
Nadgharachy gaie ha kasha gokuli yadhava
Veer dhanurdhar parthasathi chakra sudharshan gheuni hati
Rath hakuniya pandawancha palvishi kouvrwa
This is a marathi song sung in praise of Lord Krishna. It roughly means that there is sweetness in Krishna’s name and there is no other god like him. He is the one who dispels problems. He was the one responsible for the defeat of Kauravas when he acted as a charioteer of the Pandavas.
7) Bind us together Lord,
Bind us together,
With cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together Lord, Bind us together Lord,
Bind us together with love.
This hymn is another favourite of mine. Being a product of Convent school, this hymn was a part of my daily prayers. Love is the most powerful emotion and it can impel you to do the most impossible thing. It is a binding factor which helps in unification.
8) aana hai toh aa raah mein, kuchh pher nahin hai
Bhagwaan ke ghar der hai, andher nahin hai
aana hai toh
jab tujhse na suljhen teri uljhanen
Bhagwaan khud hi teri mushkilon ko aasaan karega
joh tu nahin kar paya toh Bhagwaan karega
aana hai toh
God alone knows the mystery that surrounds us, He will surely never leave His devotees in a lurch. God only tests his devotees to the extent that s/he is capable of. This song is sung in the soulful voice of Rafi Saheb for the film Naya Daur.
9) Sukh ke sab saathi dukh mein na koi
Mere rama, mere rama
Tera naam hai saacha duja na koi
Jeevan aani jaani chhaaya
Jhoothi maaya jhoohi kaaya
Phir kaahe ko saari umariyaa
Paap ki gathari dhoyi
Rafi Saheb had super command over singing Bhajans/songs in reverence of Hindu deities. He is one singer who has sung a large number of songs with as much as devotion that could be found in a Hindu singer. This song is from the film Gopi and picturised on Dilip Kumar. It is commonly found that friends and acquaintances are rarely there when we need them but God is always there for us.
