I really don't think it is possible to write about only 10 best authors when you can easily write about a hundred authors whose works you have read and totally loved.......But then, its never any harm to try....

And, here goes my top 10 list..

(10)Enid Blyton: His books have been the first novels in my life and he will always remain to be my first ever favorite author. I remember when I first saw his book, I was really scared of whether I'll ever be able to complete such a long book. I guess I was in 3rd std. that time. And today, the whole credit for my love of books, goes to Enid Blyton.

Now, though I don't touch his books anymore and they've become yellow due to rotting in my bookshelf for years, I think I'll forever remember his books like Famous Five, Secret Seven, etc. etc. I don't think there are any books better than his for children, as it takes them to a different land of mystery, joy and fun.

(9)Durjoy Dutta: He's one of the authors who can make you enjoy his books even in your lowest moments. The issues in his books have always been light and entertaining, and he's wonderful at writing stories.

With co-authors Orvana Ghai, Maanvi Ahuja and Neeti Rustagi, he's written books like Of Course I Love You …….Till I Find Someone Better, She Broke Up I Didn't……I Just Kissed Someone Else etc, he's been a wonderful author to read  and I'll always cherish his books.

(8)Margaret Mitchell: An American author and journalist, she is the author of Gone With The Wind, an American Civil War-era novel. She's one of those authors who can write stories about wars ( American Civil War ), blend it with her own stories and still succeed in nailing it off. The beauty, details and accuracy of her books are so brilliant that she has won over each and every person who has read her books. Till date, I think she is one of the most loved and successful writers in the world.

(7)Ravinder Singh: A lot of people haven't heard of him, but those who have, are sure to agree with me. Writer of two novels I Too Had A Love Story, and Can Love Happen Twice, he's the first writer who has moved my heart to such an extent. His writing is beautiful and really moving, with lots of emotions and feelings embedded in his words. I Too Had A Love Story is his real story and I can never forget the magic I felt when I first read the book. I think everyone, once in his or her life, should definitely read this book.

(6)Dan Brown With books like The Da Vinci Code,  Angels and Demons,  Digital Fortress, etc, he's made me an absolute fan of him. His spine-chilling mysteries have thrill me whenever I read his books. Also, all his research and astonishing mysteries astound me and I've always felt kind of enlightened when I finish reading any of his books. An all time favorite, he'll always be in my top 10 list.

(5)Erich Segal: What do I say about an author who has written a book like Love Story? The whole world has wept reading his books, and so have I. There is really nothing much to say than, that his books are definitely worth reading for anyone who believes in love and its magic.

(4)Khaled Hosseini: With books like A Thousand Splendid Sunsand The Kite Runner, who can't say that he is one of the best authors in the world? His tragic stories of the life of common people in Afghanistan during the war, is enough to make anyone an absolute die-hard fan of him. His books have the pain and anguish of common people (in Afghanistan, during the war ) in such an enduring way, that it kind of intensifies your reading and makes you love his books all the more.

(3)Sidney Sheldon: Superb books. Superb mysteries. Superb stories. What else is needed in a mystery book? One of the best and most accomplished writers, his writing both stuns and astonishes you. Nothing much to say, just go ahead and read his books.

(2)Stephenie Meyer: Writer of The Twilight Saga and The Host, I am crazy about her books. The Twilight Saga to me, is the largest phenomenon in the world. Her writing is wonderful and it is surprising how someone can blend suspense and violence so beautifully with love and romance.

Her books make you fall for her characters and her stories always succeed in captivating you. if you're in for some vampire romance and violence, then Meyer is the correct author for you.

(1)Nicholas Sparks: Yup. My favorite author who has written some of my favorite books. With

The Notebook,  Nights in Rodanthe,  The Wedding,  Dear John, etc, he is my most beloved author. His writing has such a simplicity and books such a tender touch that it is impossible not to be moved by his books. In all his books, he has the reader weeping for the joy and tragedy of the characters. His fictional characters seem too real for this world and each of his love story gives us a new reason to celebrate and cherish the power of love.

So, this was my top 10 list. Hope you liked it and I can confidently say that each of you can go ahead and read any of these authors and their books without any hesitation.
