We have heard and seen many stories of villains use cinema sets to loot banks. Tees Mar Khan is a movie which tells the story of villains making a film to loot a nation and use the same film to defame them. They came with a single motto to loot the wealth of our great nation and the illiterate people sang 'Day Ho' like they go after the political and religious leaders. After the 'Miss' dramas, they stage terrorist dramas in Mumbai and Delhi. The same political parties, leaders and media guided the nation to a state of Horror, not knowing it is a stage drama created by talented script writers. However, intelligent film makers of Bollywood didn't spared the culprits and arrows from Indians are never ending. Tees Maar Khan is another arrow aimed well and it may reach to its target but will fail to open the eyes of blind, deaf and thereby dumb (political leadership included).

Like I have done two or three times earlier, I have to write two reviews here, addressing two groups of expectations.

Review 1

(This review of TMK is for those who are attracted by the hype the film created through advertisement. The promise is a laugh riot, a mindless comedy where you have to keep your brain locked before entering the hall.)

It is a story about a 'great' criminal who uses a film shoot to loot a train full of national treasure taken from the twin smugglers who looted the country earlier.

Too loud and tells little, the film lacks the slap stick comedy to rocks the theatres down. The plot is too thin and the scripting didn't help to create interesting situations. The story is predictable from the very beginning. Dialogues are funny and it succeeds in creating some smiles. There are good scenes at frequent intervals but the director failed to assemble those pearls nicely to a garment.

Over acting is the rule given by the director and the actors did their best to do that. Akshay Kumar (Even same Kumar keeps his status but his make up man should be fired immediately for all the white cells, how mean!), Akshay Khanna (Master of Over acting broke his own record but it was a delight) & Katrina Kaif (surprises in her over acting (you dirty dog!) and oh boy she is cool I mean hot in those Sheila Ki Jawani). Rest of the cast too did their over acting quite well.

Cinematography is very good. Songs are quite good and with brilliant (except when they gone vulgar in few scenes) choreography they are quite adequate. Editing is good.

Having said all, the film falls short of expectation as there is lack of story on the one hand and director's failure to reach expectation on the other. It is only an above average movie with frequent dose of fun but failed to deliver what it has promised.

My rating for selected section of readers: 2.25 stars.

Review No. 2

This review is for people who go to theatre with brain and can see beyond the obvious. This review is for one who has enjoyed films like Welcome to Sajjanpur and Avatar. Yes, it is an Art film as well.

Farah Khan enters a new territory with this film. The best of credit goes to its writers who have sown a good seed of thought in the writing. They selected a very contemporary subject and direct the arrows at the cancer cell which spread very fast. Still, the lack of story to guide things further failed the film to reach the height it could have reached.

The movie is a satire in heart. It is not a mindless film, but only people who got to theatre with brain can understand and admire it. In each scene, there is a layer of fun which never over act. Akshay Khanna's and Katrina Kaif's characters are really funny and the thoughts are woven to create smiles and more. The O Scar mania and the 'Day Ho' are more direct but the Siamese smugglers and their appointment of TMK is more thoughtful. (The Manoj Day Ramlan track diluted the attack on the main target and the fun doesn't taste good as well.)

It is a very good attempt to rip apart the Rascals who enter a country and use its assets to loot it and even use the people to carry the loot to their wagons. The best part of the movie is its climax for one who follows the satire involved in the film.

The movie could have been better, but I enjoyed even in the way it is!

My rating for selected section of readers: 3.75 stars.

Overall, the movie falls short of expectation. There are good elements in it and it do entertain us in frequent intervals. However, the packaging could have been better and there could have a bit more of drama and above all, story
