This is going to be a long post. Please read this carefully before even thinking of hiring Tax Spanner as your IT consultants. I was a customer for Tax Spanner for the past 5 years but after the horrible experience I had recently, I am gladly cutting ties with them. I have never encountered any organization whose consultants are as greedy as Tax Spanner.
For the past 5 years, I have consulted them on my tax returns which aren't rocketing science and paid them a hefty amount each time for the same. I contacted them in January for my wife's income tax notice issue which I could have done myself if I was not traveling for a couple of weeks.
As expected, they didn't take time in assigning a consultant named Sweety Sharma who instead of understanding the issue started selling me packages. Due to lack of time, I took the package and made an instant payment which is when my worst nightmare started. Sweety just disappeared after the payment was done, mobile number switched off, no answer on the landline number for three consecutive days. Simultaneously since there is no particular email ID, I sent them four emails on the support ID to revert since Sweety wasn't responding. As expected, no response from the support email ID as well. Finally, when I called from an alternate number, Sweety answered my call which irked me to the core but since the deadline to submit the return was in two days I had to ensure that the work gets done first.
She then asked one of the so-called tax specialists, Manisha Yadav to connect with me and process the ITR. After interacting with Manisha and seeing her work, I am now sure that Tax Spanner hires undergraduate students as consultants since she had zero knowledge of which form to file and what components to be selected while drafting the return. I will lose faith in humanity if this consultant turns out to be a CA. First, she sent me a draft of ITR-1, I had to tell her that she needs to prepare ITR-4 and not ITR-1. Then she sent me an ITR-4 which had one integral salary header missing. She had done the calculation without taking that header into account which was like a mistake made by a school going, child. I could not believe that for a service that I paid a large amount for, I was the one checking and correcting mistakes of the drafts prepared by so-called specialists. To this date, I don't know why I hired them when I did the entire work and also paid them for a service they failed to provide. I could have asked for a refund but my conscience doesn't allow me to do that. Hands down, this is by far the worst service I have had especially considering we are in the year 2020 where organizations go out of their way to retain customers, provide them faster and better services.
In this day and age, all Tax Spanner does is wait for the client to pay the ridiculously high package amount, disappear once that's done and in the end assign an unskilled, unqualified consultant so that the customer is forever trapped in a whirlpool of pathetic customer service. To complete the review, I would say Good riddance!
