I am sharing my experience with TATA Cliq in detail, sorry if this is lengthy and annoying(This shows level of frustration I have been through). The phone was supposed to be a surprise gift for my wife for festival and unfortunately, I had to return as the product received was used thus ruining the day.

Requested for return on: 13 Jan 2018(I had to return it late as I was out of station and did not notice until my return back home)

• Screen guard: Default factory set phone come with info sheet on the surface that needs to be removed before use, this phone has an aftermarket screen guard applied to it and air bubbles in-between(info sheet is missing in the package)

• Ear phones is dirty and decolored and appears to be used very well: tie knot is missing and cover removed

• The phone is manufactured and imported on Aug 17 and has an Oct 17 security patch installed on it(I never connected the phone to the network)

• The box is old and shabby and the seal has been removed earlier and resealed

• Slight wear noticed on bottom of the phone and to the right side of the screen panel

• Data cable has been resealed

• SIM removal tool needs to be pinned to a paper support which is missing and shows the brand name as ‘LetTV’!(totally irrelevant, Letv is a different brand altogether)

All the stock conditions of a new phone can be noticed in an unboxing video which are all over YouTube

Sad part is, I read a lot of reviews on TATA Cliq post this experience and understood that TATA Cliq is shipping a lot of used products to it buyers. If you are using a phone bought from this site sorry but I bet its used and you did not notice it.

I have sent multiple mails and called them several times on the toll-free number 90291 08282 and have not heard of anything useful.

Finally I got my money refunded, refund process is painful.

I completely stopped looking at TATA cliq for purchases after the first debacle, Recently as I was googling to check a watch model details, I noticed that the bappa associates on TATA cliq is a certified seller of Casio watches(the same seller is available in Flipkart as well), so I logged into TATA cliq and added a Casio watch to wish list for later purchase. On occasion of Cliqathon Sale, I noticed other watches from Titan, Fastrack and Sonata(all owner by TATA group again) brands were discounted upto 80% and I decided to purchase few watches for myself and family members.

After placing the order successfully(prepaid credit card payment mode), I received order confirmation notification on email, SMS and whatsapp. I was quite excited and waited for shipment to begin. After a day or two all the orders mentioned above were cancelled with the reason was ‘OutOfStock’

This was a false information as all the products that I ordered was available for sale from the same seller for much higher prices. I raised a query with TATA cliq and received no response from there site and as well on email and then messaged their team from Facebook for which I received response that the issue was with inventory and they had to cancel the order and were unable to arrange for product from the seller.

They are not agreeing the fact about the pricing error, which I believe is the reason why they cancelled all my orders. The very shameful fact is that the TATACliq platform and the seller Titan Company Ltd are both owned by TATA group.

This experience makes want to opt for other ecommerce sites, the real reason why we cannot support our own home-grown companies is because of such experiences.

I never received a satisfactory answer from TATA cliq, but they offered me 200 Rs off coupon for next purchase. The funniest part of this coupon is that the coupon can be used on product where I can get higher discounts using credit card.

I strongly suggest you to opt for other trusted platforms no matter how tempting the offers are on TATA cliq.
