The all new Tata Safari DiCOR has been launched with the catch phrase ‘Reclaim your life’. It has helped in creating an excitement on the product. But could it have been even more impressive?
The ad
---------
The review by Sanju_Maverick69 gives a very good description of the ad, and so I don’t think I have to repeat the same. Though I have to say the ad is to been to know what the review is all about!
‘Reclaim your life’- the concept!
---------------------------------------
The Tata safari has been on our roads for nearly a decade and the automobile industry has called it a dying model. There are still royalists who stick to the safari, but the 2.0 litre diesel engine was just not good enough. Finally, Tata has listened to the demands on the costumers and in comes the new DiCOR giving a new lease of life to the dying model. So I would have to say that the phrase reclaim your life was well suited.
Also, this is an SUV, and as the ad has shown, has some off- roading capabilities and even better, a 4 wheel drive, which should be more than enough to life your spirits… Like the Ikon is called a Josh machine, similarly the safari can lift your spirits…
10/ 10 from me
The execution
-----------------------------
There is nothing to complain here… You get a few people who talk of their boring day to day experiences, and then you get the visuals of the DiCOR. It’s like a breath of fresh air, and has helped in creating much excitement of the product…
The big points are the four shots of the Safari… there is a blank screen showing the words ‘Reclaim your life’ and then there is a shot of the safari ‘erupting’ from the ground…
But the shot I like the most was the second shot of the car. Then one where the car comes turning from the side angle. The sides of the car are very well visible and so too is the very impressive new front, but the great thing is that the vehicles comes almost as if sliding, and is very evident that is an all wheel drive…
Then there is this beautiful shot of the safari throwing water twice its height, and goes on forward as if nothing happened … Man! What else can the guys at Tata do to create excitement on the SUV?
So where did the points go? I feel there should have been a few more shots of the safari. I just couldn’t get a good glance at it. But I have to say that I was enough to get me to the showroom for a look. But then, the ad left me desiring for some more action on screen. Its was almost like watching the all exciting ‘Matrix reloaded’ and then leaving the theatre craving for more after that sudden ending…
Hope I wouldn’t be too wrong if I gave it a 9/10
The music and the background score
-----------------------------------------------------
The breathtaking shots of the safari are well complimented by a very good music. Boy! I remember the first time I saw the ad. I was at the computer. The TV was across the hall, and the music and the sounds made me take notice of the ad.
10/10
Technical details
----------------------
Just like the ad for the Bajaj Avenger, Tata also doesn’t provide any technical specifications about the car. But then, the whole question is, is it needed?
The entire brochure can be downloaded from the official site of Tata motors, and so a buyer will have an easy access to all the technical specifications…
What the ad focuses is on the feeling the driver gets. Now this is important in the higher end cars… and is just what separates an SUV like the Safari from an MUV or anything similar…
Take for example a Mercedes C class. Though there are better models with smaller price tags in the market, the feeling of driving a car with a triple pointed star up front is enough for many to buy the car … This is exactly what the Safari aims to exploit. And the die hard SUV fans out there will not settle for nothing less.
One big negative many people pointed in the case of the Bajaj avenger ad was he there was too much attention on the model. The model is the rider, and the attention to the model is actually intended to the rider in general. But the Tata Safari goes a step further to ensure that such a criticism will not come…
Has this ad been successful in showing the worth of the product?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good question, Mouthshut! I think yes. Now the safari has always been a looker, and with the new grill and a very powerful new diesel motor, it is all set to tap the Indian SUV market. The SUV market in India is all about the ruggedness, brand strength and road presence that the vehicle provides, rather than its serious off roading abilities. I have o say that the ad has been very successful in meeting these demands.
Definitely good! But it could have been a class act if it had a few more of such fantastic shots of the safari that one gets a satisfaction at the end of the commercial.
Overall, let me think. I think I have to give the ad 8/10 overall… Hope you guys agree… But you are free to have your own opinions, which I hope you will let me know in the comments section…
Thank you for reading…
