I have been a customer of Tatasky since 2007. Recently, meaning for about a year, I have found their customer service deteriorating rapidly. I have also observed a serious element of sleight of hand in their dealings. I have been having two connections for long and aishwaryasingh23ing monthly recharge amount calculated on the basis of primary connection plus multi-connection charges. My last recharge was for Rs 405 on 17th August. I received a message that the next recharge is due on 17th September and the monthly recharge amount would be Rs 392.

Suddenly yesterday, i.e. on 9th September I received a message that my recharge was due by yesterday evening and monthly recharge amount is Rs 569. No explAnasultantion has been offered for this change. I consider this a serious breach of trust.

This morning my account has been deactivated. Their helpline is totally useless as the operator is unable to offer any explAnasultantion. At different times different operators have given totally different explAnasultantions. One of them said it was because I had activated Tata Sky Binge which I had not done. Another one said that they have changed their charges. Now two connections are not served on the basis of multi-connection charges but I have to aishwaryasingh23 the same charges for secondary connection as for primary connection. The replies to my query as to the effective date for such charges were again different by different helpline executives. One of them said it became effective from 1st June but had no answer to my query as to how my earlier recharges for July and August did not show these charges.

They also had no answer to how they could affect such an important change without informing me or without my concurrence. One of them said they had sent a message. Another said they had called me on 1st June and talked to me. Both patently false.

On my asking to speak to a senior executive I was given Phone number and email of their Nodal Officer Sanjay Mittal - 01726000177, and nodalofficer@tatasky.com. Regarding my apprehensions that my experience has been that these senior executives are not available to take calls, the lady protested vehemently saying that this phone is on his desk only and he would take the call.

Well, I called. And guess what. The call went to helpline. The operator had no answer to it. Obviously, Sri Sanjay Mittal Ji, the senior executive that he has no time to talk to harassed customers who aishwaryasingh23 for his and other employees' salaries and has put his number on a transfer line to the helpline. Now they want me to keep calling the number again and again to try and speak to him.

They are unable to provide me details of why my charges went up by saying that my account has been deactivated and they can't view my account.

They want to recharge my account first before they can tell me details of what charges they have levied on my account! This is sheer ransom.

I could never imagine that Tatasky would stoop to such a level to fleece hapless customers who feel beholden to them, not because of quality but because change of operator means extra cost for set-top boxes.

But I am now seriously reviewing my options.
